This Brings Back Some Memories...

So, as I've written in the past I did this movie a little over a year ago. It was independent so don't expect to see it on your local video rental shelves or in your Netflix listings. The title is "Diary of a Co-Worker" and it's a good flick.
Actually, I've never seen it. I've never even really seen any of the footage that I was even in. I saw some of the outtakes at the cast party, and that was it. I'm saying it's good, because I'm in it dammit! (The character's name is Rick, for those who care.) Back on topic though...
A few weeks ago I got word that the film had been rejected from the St. Louis International (even though it's just local) Film Festival. It came as bit of a shock after hearing that one of the board members had seen it a few months earlier and said it had a real good chance of making it in. Fuck that guy! The director guy, a cool chap, is busy putting together the DVD so hopefully I'll see it before the end of the year. In the meantime, one of the actors has set up some space on his own production site for the film, here. There's some basic cast and crew info and images from filming and still shots. I had to look like I was 17, so any pictures that have appeared on this site or a huge difference from the pics that are on the film's site. I mean a BIG difference. I was even shocked at the difference. It was a year and a half ago, but still... I didn't have anything to remind me of the experience other than the memories in my head, which have been fading, so it's good to see some of the pics and the people and remember just how fun that whole thing was. I'm looking forward to a time when I have the time to get back into acting again.
In other news, classes for the second half of summer started today and I had to spend $117 on a used fucking book. And to add insult to injury, the books I brought in to sell back where no longer being taken because they're not using that edition anymore. Even though I had to buy two of the books brand-new not more than a month ago. Fuck the system! Looks like I'm going to have to start a bookstore revolution.

Bren- I can't believe the film didn't make it in to the St L festival. I am so bummed about that. I hope to see the DVD.
I feel your pain about the bookstore. If the courses are offered in the fall, put up notices that you are selling the previous edition. I have been in classes where students are using a few different editions and the enlightened prof would point out any significant differences or give the alternate page numbers. It's not the bookstore -ultimately it's the publisher who needs/wants to keep making money on calculus books. What's new in calculus??? Your auntie helped with an alternative student run buy-back, book sale when she was in college last century. Keep up the good fight! K

Hey bud, it's RØB from DIARY OF A CO-WORKER (my site is the www.pancakeproductions where DIARY's official site rests). Found this through some web stats on my server--thanks for the mention! There are trailers and photo galleries and such on there now. Also, Matt just told me it was accepted into the New York Film and Video Festival. What're you up to these days?
