Warp Speed Mr. Sulu

Finally got the Krap back up and running at full speed. That dial-up business is the worst. I don't think I could live with a dial-up connection for more than 2 weeks. The last post I wrote took me so long to get published to the site I was ready to start watching the Tour de France. That's how bad it was! I had to figure out how to get a wireless router to work 'cause the cable guy that came today couldn't install an outlet (is that what you call the thing coaxial cables come out of in a wall?) in the room the computer is in. That was the biggest pain in the ass. Not so much getting it all to work, it all went together real nice. I just made a bonehead mistake by not noticing that I needed to click on a little icon in the lower right hand corner of my screen. I spent half an hour trying to figure out why I wasn't getting a connection before I saw that damn thing.
So now that I've got my access back to the net and cable TV to watch I'm not sitting around in my free time twiddling my thumbs. I'm pretty good at twiddling the thumbs though. The past few nights I've been watching taped episodes of Home Movies or playing some Eternal Darkness. If you haven't seen Home Movies, you should. It used to be on during Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block all the time but now that they canceled new shows they only show it at 12:30 AM CST. I'm starting to have trouble staying up that late in my old age. Luckily the first season DVD set is coming in November. Maybe I'll have a job by then and I can actually buy it instead of looking at through a store window in the pouring rain while standing next to a Oliver Twist look-a-like.
Speaking of rain it rains a helluva lot down here in Houston. I like a good storm and the other day we had one, I saw some crap getting blown off a house under construction about 300 yards away. The only bad part I've seen so far, besides the destructive force, is that because a house has yet to be built next to us there is a lot of wind that blows against the windows and that's where my youngest sister sleeps. She's a pretty sound sleeper but that wind howls like a banshee.
That's it for now. It's late and I've got class in the morning. I'm working on getting some photos of the place up so you readers can get an idea of where I'm at. I don't know why I say readers when there seems to be only one person reading this. I guess I should say, Ben(n) I'm working on some photos 'cause I've got a blog and a digital camera and I know how to use 'em.
